Planning A Journey
AA Route Planner

The route planner on the AA website told me that a car journey up to Tottenham Court Road would take me 2hr 13 minutes if I left from Bay House School. The journey wouldn't cost me anything except petrol money. The route planner was good as it told me the distance I would travel. It also gave the directions in an easy to read list. The map was easy to use as you could use it as a “road view” map or use it as “satellite” map. The search was conducted really quickly, which would be useful to people in a rush. Another advantage of the route planner was that I was able to type in the post code instead of the nearest bus stop or train station this meant that the directions would take me exactly to the destination I wanted to go to. The route planner also gave me options to avoid travelling on motorways or having to pay congestion charges. To avoid these things all you had to do was click a simple box which made planning my route even easier.
National Rail

I found the national rail website quite difficult to use compared with the AA one. The train station at Tottenham Court Road couldn’t be found on the website so I had to find the one nearest to it. This would result in the cost of the journey to increase as you have to find another mean of transport to get to your destination. Having to find a different train station added extra time into planning my journey. The website did tell me what time I would depart and arrive and how long the duration of the journey would be, but it wasn’t as easy to find unlike in the AA route planner.
